Windows Mobile 6 adds power to your mobile office with up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars. |
Edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets on your phone, just as you would on your desktop/laptop PC. | Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 updates the Windows Mobile 5 platform with a number of handy features that make searching through email, editing Microsoft Office documents, and staying on top of your most important communications even easier. Emails can now be viewed in their original rich HTML format and now offer the ability to visit embedded links. It also includes Windows Live for Windows Mobile, which provides a full set of Windows Live services, such as the Windows Live Messenger IM application, which now enables you to chat with more than one person at one time or send a file. With Windows Mobile 6, your phone will finally be able to emulate the power and features of your PC's Microsoft Office suite. You'll be able to neatly view, navigate and edit Word documents and Excel spreadsheets in their original formatting--without affecting tables, images or text--as well as view PowerPoint presentations. - Microsoft Office Word Mobile features include spell-check, Find and Replace commands, bulleted lists, text formatting, and support for tables for the first time.
- With Excel Mobile, youOre not just confined to editing charts: with the new Chart Wizard you can create charts quickly and easily.
- PowerPoint Mobile allows you to view the full presentation, rehearse timings, check the order and any live links you may have in your presentation. You can then email comments back to the team or communicate via MSN Messenger for an immediate response.
- After creating or editing a Word document or Excel spreadsheet, you can synchronize it with your PC and it will automatically be converted to the PC version.
All Windows Mobile 6 powered devices include Direct Push Technology for up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks and contacts through Microsoft Exchange Server. It also offers a set of important device security and management features that include the capability to remotely wipe all data from a device should it be lost or stolen, helping ensure that confidential information remains that way.

Good December 1, 2008 It's not a bad phone but it will had been better if the reception wasn't so weak.
looks nice but.... August 14, 2008 Like -size and design
Dislike -response speed (slower than any other phone I ever use) -you can not charge the Main Battery from Cigar and USB charger -slow response speed -No GPS -2.5MM headset output -Low camera quality -Small internal memory space
I guess this phone is not for business use but good for first smart phone user and kids...
It does the job for me, most of the time. August 4, 2008 I don't really use this thing for business purposes. So keep that in mind. Also, it's quite possible that some of these comments/gripes are about Windows Mobile 6.1 and not necessarily about the phone -- but since they come together, they should be considered one product.
Here's what I like about the phone. The keyboard is great, with solid tactile feedback on the keys. The backlight on the keys is nice too. The screen is great, and overall the phone looks really slick. The camera is not as good as some, but probably as good or better than most. The speakerphone is probably the best of any phones I've ever had. The reception on this phone is on average, probably at least one bar better than my LG VX8600 when sitting in the same place with the same carrier. I use the email functionality all the time. It may be basic, but it works, and it's useful since I don't have access to my personal email account at work. I also like the quick Contacts feature, where you just type a letter and the phone takes you to Contacts and skips down to the letter. Being able to search for a contact using ANY substring (not just first name or last name, etc) is nice too.
Here are some of the problems that have been bothering me. I work in an area with pretty bad reception, so I get this tone pretty frequently that I assume means I have no signal. I've tried to turn it off, but I'm pretty sure the option doesn't exist (I have ALL alerts/warnings turned off in the settings already) unless I switch to Silent mode. Now, I can deal with that, but it is a problem that shouldn't exist. I also use my phone as my alarm clock in the morning. Sometimes, somehow, two instances of the alarm clock app get launched together and the phone tries to belt out two alarms simultaneously. Also not the end of the world, but come on.
The phone is slow to respond to input, and clicking "Start" routinely requires a 4 or 5 second wait before a response. Many apps don't have "Exit" built in to their menus, so if you want to quit (not just throw it into the background to slow you down even more) you have to launch the task manager and kill the app manually. That's REALLY bad coding practice, by the way. Every so often I just have to reboot the thing when it locks up, too.
I don't use any media functionality, or Docs to Go or anything like that.
I know that sounds like a lot of complaints, but I still gave it 4 stars because the phone itself is well built and has a lot of features. It's just that somebody (cough cough) dropped the ball when it came to the operating system.
Doesn't Support Jawbone Bluetooth headset ?????? May 8, 2008 This phone does not support the Jawbone bluetooth headset. Isn't Bluetooth a "Standard" ? C'mon M, how can you let the little things slip through the cracks on this one? Also, BB is FAR more user friendly, seems like q9M could have used more UI and UX testing prior to release.
Great phone when it works April 2, 2008 I LOVE this phone. So much that I haven't switched to another one but continue to get new ones when they stop working. But this is my 5th one in less than a month. They are very unstable. They will get stuck on a screen and not come back on even after pulling the battery. Back to Verizon Wireless again...
