Great Cursor Control October 28, 2008 A great tool to let my fingers operate cursor controls more easily, therefore more accurately. Flat plane mouse control usually left errors that were hard to avoid and too tedious to fully correct. In my Photoshop Elements program I get better results in less time.
Excellent! October 14, 2008 Works well in Photoshop, and suits a budding graphic artist's needs well, as well as a quite functional and novel mouse. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but then is quite easy.
One surprise: While the Bamboo Fun software came on a CD, the Photoshop and other programs came on a *DVD*. We had no DVD drives at home, so I had to buy a 4GB thumb drive and use a friend's drive to read the DVD. Rather frustrating, and not at all clear from the online documentation.
But once we got over that hump, we have been more than pleased.
A great second tablet. October 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a Wacom Intuos 3 6X11 tablet. I absolutely love it, but it is not very portable. I decided to go for this bamboo fun tablet so that I can have a backup and a portable tablet to take with me for my laptop. First of all, I love the fact that the bamboo has a detachable USB cable. The $400 Intuos doesn't even have that. Second, the Bamboo has a slight texture on the surface compared to the Intuos, this really does contribute to a natural pencil on paper feel. These are two notable features. Don't let the fact that the Intuos has more pressure levels (1024 vs. 512) for the bamboo discourage you. I tried them both side by side and could see no difference. Buy this now!!!
Useful, well designed October 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the Bamboo fun to write notes with math formulas that I could store on my computer (without the hassle of scanning paper etc). The Bamboo hardware is perfect for this. It's well designed, functions just as advertised and integrates perfectly with my Macbook. The resolution is probably not good enough for any professional photo editing, but just fine for everyday stuff.
The only complaint I have is that none of the bundled software lets me write notes and store them as pdf documents (without importing clippings into other applications). I found what I wanted in the application Inkbook, but it's not included with the Bamboo tablet.
Anyway, a great device that I would recommend.
One Annoying Thing You should know... October 2, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Hi,
I have to say I do like this tablet for the money, the only thing you should realize is that there is, I believe, ONE MAJOR DESIGN FLAW.
The USB connector is on the top LEFT Side, which means for the 90-93 % of us whom are RIGHT HANDED and want to keep the tablet to the Right of the Keyboard...The Cord is TOTALLY in the Way.
Its a good tablet, just a very bad placement of USB cable. Should have been in the Middle to accommodate placement on either side of keyboard.
I think next time I would spend a little more for the Wireless one to avoid this issue.
