Product Description The Synergy series Sub-12 hurls out enough power and bass extension to shake the foundation. It uses high-quality materials and the most reliable components to create a rock-solid impact that makes your movies and music come alive. The Sub-12 gets its intensity from a 12-inch, down-firing driver coupled to a highly efficient BASH amplifier that creates 300 watts of continuous power and 650 watts of dynamic power. The subwoofer's built-in, steep-slope (24dB/octave) low-pass crossover is continuously adjustable from 40 to 120Hz. A phase control facilitates acoustical integration of the subwoofer with the other speakers in the system. An "auto power" feature enables the subwoofer to turn itself on and off (standby) automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal. A blue/red dual color LED display on the front of the subwoofer indicates whether the unit is on or in standby mode.In addition to its ability to play louder and go deeper than anything else in its class, the Sub-12 features an industrial design that is refined and aggressive. Available in a black finish with titanium accents, this extraordinary subwoofer matches the entire Synergy series lineup in both style and performance.Because it wraps technical superiority and eye-catching cosmetics into one affordable package, the Sub-12 perfectly anchors a home theater or two-channel system.

If you shop around you can get the SUB-12 for the same price November 22, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Though this may be a better sub than what you get from home-theater-in-a-box systems, and it's better than most of the Polk and Infinity subs available, if you are a good shopper you can get the SUB-12 for the same price as this one, and it's a MUCH better sub. Or, you can find the internet-direct companies that have as good or better performance (and amazing customer service) for the same price: like Elemental Designs, HSU, SVS, AV123.
DA BOMB! November 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First movie I watched after installing this sub was Star Wars IV. This sub has amazingly powerful lows, when the Death Star in the movie blew up Alderaan I could literally FEEL the impact, my walls shook, my TV shook, a CD on a shelf 18 feet from the sub fell over and it nearly caused my lava lamp to rattle off its shelf.
This baby has POWER.
I highly recommend you set expensive items off high places till you adjust this sub's bass output to correctally match your speakers. SERIOUSLY :)
I paired mine with the Klipsch Quintet SL speaker set, makes a great package.

This is a tremdous improvement over bass speakers I've owned in the past. Deeper, fuller and not boomy at all. You actually feel the sound much like listening to a large pipe organ. It's the best I've ever owned.
A Real Sub! May 15, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I recently replaced a Polk Audio PSW-12 with the Synergy. This is an amazing upgrade. It mixes well with the Polk RTi-8 Fronts, and CSi-3 Center, R15 surround and Infinity Primus 250 Back Surround. All of these speakers are powered by an Onkyo 803.
The previous sub had good bass response, but was very directional. What I mean by that is I could hear the bass coming from the sub. It did not fill the room. The Synergy fills the room, and actually makes the bass sound like it is coming from the individual speakers. If you increase the gain, it will shake the house.
Installation was very simple. I used the LFE connection, and plugged it in to power. It also has an automatic power save mode, and a light on the front to let you know what mode it is in. Over all, a great value!
Great price, great sound. March 15, 2008 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
I hooked this SW up too my Yamaha tuner and Klipsch Quintet II speakers. The first thing I watched was Apocalypse Now due to the phenominal 5.1 sound. The subwoofer is tremendous. You can have it as loud or as subtle as you want and it doesnt distort. Hook up was a breeze via a single "SW cable" (not supplied). I'm not a tech head but I had no problems putting it all together. The sub has its own power supply which is an absolute must have from a power set up standpoint. Just a side note.... all these components are only as good as the bit in the middle (the tuner) and the amount of power that it can push to the individual parts. Once you have it all set right this sub will last you a long long long time before you outgrow it. I WOULD buy this product again if I had too.
