as close to perfect as it gets November 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My new headphones rock. For someone who likes to listen to experimental and classical music in addition to more raucous music, the clarity and depth are about a million times greater than with the ol' ear buds. Plus I paint in a sometimes loud communal studio area, and I wanted a way to drown out the commotion without going deaf or being limited to music with a beat.
They're quite light and comfy too, and that's saying a lot for over-ear phones for me, as I have 7 piercings in my ears which usually get sore after I've had headphones on for a while.
Two small notes - be warned that the earpieces are indeed SHINY. Don't believe the computer rendered image. They're SHI-NEY. And the headband part does protrude sideways a bit but those are both small complaints for an otherwise fantastic set of headphones.
Fantastic Headphones! September 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I saw this pair of headphones at the local Apple Store. They had it on display with the iPod and it sounded wonderful (but don't buy it there; their mark up was insane). If you're an audiophile, you may be impressed with its performance. You could hear everything the artist intended for you to hear. Even with the amount of people around me, it didn't fail to let me hear the music clearly. The only problem I had was how flimsy the wires were... but so far I haven't any problems. Backed by a two year warranty, I don't think this pair of headphones will let me down.
nice headphone June 30, 2008 I'm using this headphone with iPod. All sounds are great; high note, low base, vocal, etc. Shipping was fast and looks new even though the seller said "used".
Outstanding in a crowded field April 10, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The Audio Technica ES7 does so many things right that you gradually realize that it's quite special.
= The ES7 can be worn like an ordinary headphone, then folded flat for storage in a backpack or briefcase. Few portables allow this kind of versatility. It's well made enough that it's clearly designed to last. = These are closed headphones - so your music is kept private (for the most part, anyway). They offer considerably more privacy than open headphones like Grados, which are excellent in their own right. Don't expect, however, for the ES7 to filter out external sounds. These are not "noise-reduction" headphones. = Sound quality is surprising. The bass is solid but not fully controlled; however, the highs are sweet and subtle, lacking any hint of sibilance. With most music, it's a sound signature that gives the music a certain life and energy, and excels particularly with rock genres. = The ear cups have a stunning, mirror finish on the outside - not unlike the back of an iPod. This potentially a magnet for scratches, so it's advisable to make a Best Skins Ever cover to keep it in top condition. = Using the ES7 for the first time, you may find that it curves around your head like a halo. However, by shaping the cable, it looks and feels more relaxed. = Be cautious of cheap bootlegged versions of this headphone, usually for sale on eBay for irresistible prices. This headphone has been the victim of fakes, so refuse to buy new products that lack the ES7 box, gray velour slipcase, and literature.
Best headphones I have ever owned! March 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have owned many different kinds of headphones but this pair of headphones blow's away all of the headphones I have ever owned even right out of the box. I just received them and am so happy that I decided on these headphones. They defiantly are better sounding then Bose and look amazing and I would defiantly recommend them to anyone that wants a great pair of headphones for such a great deal.
