    Editorial Reviews:

    Product Description
If the tunes you spin go deeper than your earphones can handle, it's time for new earphones. The Atomic Bass earphones are tailor made to deliver the slamming bass of hip-hop and dance, but they are tonally balanced for any music style.Precision crafted from the same material as the iPod Nano, and sporting a gold plated stereo mini-plug, Atomic Bass goes to the final degree to make sure everything looks and sounds perfect.Bass sound waves are longer by nature, so it takes longer for bass energy to really get started. The unique shape of Atomic Bass features a lengthened sound chamber to let those waves develop properly. While the sound is generated in the stylish bud, the angled tube chamber which sits in your ear canal acts as a tuned port. Penetration is deeper, and so is the rumble. This means clear, deep bass you can feel. Don't miss the sensation. Finally, most earphones are rated at 16O of impedance. Atomic Bass earphones are rated at 32O, which makes them easier to drive. This added efficiency helps to produce enormous sound, and your iPod battery doesn't have to work so hard to do it.Your ears are unique and, for many people, the smallest available ear fitting is still too big for their ears. Factor in a variety of ear shapes, and getting the right fit becomes challenging. Atomic Bass earphones can be inserted from three possible angles, and the smallest of the three included fittings is among the smallest available. Three angles times three fitting sizes equals nine possible solutions to getting the most comfortable fit for your ears.

4 out of 5 stars great earphones for zune, ipod and meizu m6   January 6, 2009
ok im comparing with the skull candy ink and the iphone earphones.

The radius atomic bass sound better than the candy and 10x more than the iphone ones. im all about the bass.

i have a meizu M6 sp.... the radius sound awesome. REALY. the meizu has the best sound that i ever heard from any ipod and zune etc.. The bass is great. with the radius u have to turn down the bass level on the meizu to 5. unlike the skull candy u need to put it at 10 to get the same as the radius on 5. o the meizu goes to level 20 in the bass level..
the ipod earphones are bad. I popped them using meizu.

on the zune 8gb. the radius are good not the best. for the earphone that come with the zune they dont do any justice the the player. On the radius the bass you can hear clear a bit heavier. its not as much as the meizu but is their clear. I had the skull candy ones with my zune and didnt hear the bass. but on my meizu M6 i could hear the skulls bass very well.
i used the ipod ones and well you guest it TERRIBLE.

on the iphone it sounded great. good sound good mid and good bass
abit more that the zune bass wise. ya zune has no EQ. it bugs me that they dont.

the radius atomic bass are very good. they fit very well in the ear. The bass is phenomenal. The mid's are good, and the highs are good too but they are not perfect. all my test were done with music rate of 192kbps or higher. hope this helps

4 out of 5 stars Great earbuds for the price!   December 30, 2008
These Radius earbuds are unique in their shape and how they fit into your ear. To me, they seem more snug and less likely to fall out while running, exercising, etc. You can wear them with the cord either over the ear or hanging down, which gives you some flexibility that other earbuds don't offer. With three sets of ear caps, they should be able to fit in any ear. Also, the pair I got has a "Y" style cable, which I prefer to earbuds with uneven cables.

I tested these Radius Atomic Bass earphones after about 4 hours of burn-in with two other pairs of in-ear earbuds: the Sennheiser CX300 and Jbud J2. To my musical taste, the Radius beat the J2s hands-down. The Radius just are more 'natural' sounding in the high and midrange, and seem to be more efficient as well. I'd have to say though, that the Radius still does not sound better than the Sennheiser CX300s. It's a close second though -- the bass on the Radius' is a little stronger/deeper; however the Sennheisers still have a better high and midrange that is more clear and responsive. But if you listen to bass-heavy music, you may not even notice a difference. For me and my jazz/classical/acoustic taste, I'll stick to my Sennheisers, but the Radius will be a decent backup or second set.

5 out of 5 stars Good with all the music I listen to   December 20, 2008

I listen mostly to classical music: symphonies, concertos, and other orchestral works, solo piano, chamber works, solo vocal and choral works, etc. I am really pleased with this product. Orchestral sections are clear and have the necessary heft where it counts. Low strings, which often sound like distant rumbles, actually sound musical; and timpani are indeed timpani! Especially pleasing is the solo piano, which is clean, firm, and well balanced throughout its whole range. Voices are convincingly presented, though as with almost any speakers, headphones and earphones, you have to turn up the volume a bit to hear the real vocal quality.

My litmus test is always the 40-part motet 'Spem in Alium' of Tallis (Tallis Scolars). This pair of earphones acquits itself very well too. The space surrounding the individual voices is nicely retained most of the time. It does get somewhat congested when all 40 voices are going in full force, but so do all my other (much much more expensive) earphones.

I am sure that on music that has been recorded with a bumped-up lower rage, this can make the bass sound overwhelming. But that's hardly the fault of the earphones. Aficionados of such music probably prefer it that way anyway. (How can anybody stay in a car which is vibrating from the pounding bass and drums?)

Without a question, this is now my favorite pair of earphones, and I am definitely not shedding any tears that they don't cost more. In fact, I am going to buy a couple more pairs of them to be sure I don't have to use others.

    5 out of 5 stars Much better - ahhhh   December 17, 2008
These are great- my ears are not big enough for those huge ear things that come with the iPod. These are comfortable and sound great. Got them for my iPod Classic with video.

4 out of 5 stars Mixed feelings   December 16, 2008
#1 they are too bass heavy to sound natural. Hip/hop fans and the I-pod generation might think they sound great but they are too soft in the midrange and too heavy in the bass to be hi-fi, in my not so humble opinion.
#2 they broke easily after just 4 months of use.
#3 they are the most comfortable earphones I've tried. They are far more comfortable then my other more expensive (and better sounding) earphones.

Overall, I think they are perfect for the gym, but I like to use my better sounding phones for traveling.
