fm transmitter January 6, 2009 I bought this product as a Christmas gift. They are really pleased with it and would recommend anyone to buy it. Great product. Also the product arrived within three days of ordering it. Fast service!
Great ipod accessory December 31, 2008 Our son needed a unit that plugged into the power source and allowed him to play his ipod thru the radio since the OEM radio in his car does not have any accessory jacks. This device not only facilitates the ipod playing on the FM band, it helps select the best FM fequency to use along with charging the ipod while it plays. The bonus is the credit card sized ipod remote control that lets you change music without having to look at the ipod to do it.
Great gadget December 31, 2008 I bought this item for my son so that he could listen to his Ipod in his car. I gave it to him for Christmas, he istalled and said he loved it. It apparently works really well, so I bought a 2nd unit for my kid brother.
Pretty good December 29, 2008 Has been working pretty well so far. Found a station very easily, and haven't really had any trouble with interference. My only complaint, like others, is that the plastic seems a bit cheap. -definitely want to just leave it attached to cigarette lighter if possible. Overall, pleased with purchase.
Not recommended for larger Ipods December 26, 2008 I bought a Griffin Roadtrip FM transmitter years ago and it was a great product. I hardly ever had any radio interference, even on stations that had existing signals - as soon as I turned this on, the radio went totally silent and I could enjoy the music from my Ipod. Then one day I was being a bit of a clutz and leaned over my seat and cracked the adapter plug, which cut all the wiring inside it. Stupidly, I replaced it with a cheap Belkin transmitter from Wal-Mart. Bad move. I got interference everywhere, on any and every frequency. No matter where it was in my car.
Then I bought this Satechi 6-in-1 FM Transmitter. It worked better than the cheap Belkin one, but not quite as good as this Griffin RoadTrip one; furthermore, my 30 gig video Ipod weighed too much for it and it kept flopping over if I hit some bumps on the road. Satechi's trasmitters are not held by a firm plastic cradle like Griffin RoadTrip does, and even though you could screw the joint on the Satechi one really tight, it will eventually loosen up and fold over on you again. After multiple times of the Satechi brand flopping over on me, it broke completely.
Hindsight 20/20, I should have replaced my first Griffin RoadTrip with another one.
