Amazon.com Product Description Siemens's 4215 Gigaset covers a lot of ground. By using the walkie-talkie function, you can contact anyone who has a handset within 1,000 feet outdoors and 150 feet indoors. With long-ranging 2.4 GHz digital technology, the lightweight 4215 offers features like voice-announced caller ID/call waiting and headset compatibility and speakerphone in an expandable unit. Plus, enhancements like a buttonless base, six-day standby battery, clock and alarm, and appointment reminder combine to make this phone well suited for a small office or busy home. It's also easy to use, with voice-activated commands and dialing and a navigation key to help you move through menu options. The built-in digital answering machine provides 33 minutes of recording time (and memo operation), with the support of four mailboxes to designate messages and full remote operation to collect messages while you're away. The date and time stamp records when the call came in. A 30-number caller ID memory and 200 speed-dial presets are both displayed on the large five-line backlit LED screen. The slim handset, weighing just 5.6 ounces and measuring 2-by-6.5-by-1.5 inches, has volume control, call waiting, flash, hold, and last number redial. Expand your 4215 to four users with optional handsets (Siemens model 4200 or 4000). A long battery life provides 10 hours of talk and 6.25 days of standby with a low-battery indicator.

Amazing Product ! October 21, 2007 Why anyone would find something to complain about with this product is beyond me. This phone is outstanding. As with most products, read the manual. Learn how to use and enjoy this product. This phone is packed with features and even the basic ones are terrific. It even looks cool.
I highly recommend this superior product! 4star plus! October 14, 2007 I purchased a Siemens 2.4 GHz Gigaset 4215 Base Station and 4200 Handset as a gift for my wife so long ago that I can't remember what year. A couple of years later we switched from a land line telephone connection to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Although my friends frequently complain of poor VoIP compatability with other corded and cordless phones, the Gigaset system performance has been flawless!
I have entered all of our personal and business contacts in the speed-dial feature which is very user-friendly to access. We use the speaker phone feature almost exclusively. My wife uses the phone numerous times throughout every day, conducting important business and talking long periods of time to her relatives and our out-of-town children. Other than replacing the rechargeable batteries with a couple of premium batteries a few years ago, I have never performed any maintenance on it, nor have we had any reliability problems whatsoever.
We liked this base station and handset so well that we purchased another handset for upstairs about three years ago and bought another complete system, including a headset for our daughter who continues to rave about it. It reaches with a clear signal everywhere in our relatively large house, basement and garage as well as to the far corners of our suburban property.
I respectfully submit that anyone who does not like the Siemans Gigaset is either too technologically challenged for this state of the art device or they are in the business of selling other brands.
This is the right choice!
Headphone jack failed May 10, 2007 I have had two handsets, having replaced the first one after the headphone jack stopped working after three years. The replacement handset, now three years old also has a malfunctioning headphone jack. I used to love to use the belt clip and my headphones to take conference calls at home and not have have my hands free to use the PC, etc. After two failed handsets, I would not buy this product again.
Some good features, some bad. December 28, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had three of these for about 4 or 5 years.
Good points: * All three are still operating. * The speakerphone option is nice, but with any background noise it works about as poorly as any other speakerphone. * Ability to send phonebook entries to other phones in "the system". "night hours" allows changing the ring volume on specific phones (like the bedroom) during night hours. * Good range. * Setting date/time on one unit sets all units (yea!).
Less good points: - It's voice recognition & dial feature doesn't always work. I have a hard time just getting it into the "voice dial" mode. - It has some background noise when I use it and the microwave at the same time, so now I don't nuke & network simultaneously. - Every once in a while (like in the middle of the night, grrrr), one of the phones will start making it's "I'm charging!" beep every couple seconds. I just take the phone off the charger stand and lay it down, but by that time I'm up (AND upset). - Lack of headset option. - Lack of "synchronize all phonebooks". - Lack of "condition Ni-cad battery" feature (fully charge then discharge several times)
Would I buy another one? Nope. Need the headset.
I Love This Phone! December 2, 2005 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This phone is great.... I don't understand the bad reviews I see here. I have had this phone 2-3 years now and it is the best phone I have ever seen or owned and I always like to have the best phone I find. Quality is outstanding, I love the features and styling. I own a base an 2 extensions.
I love the phone so much I also bought my sister one for an xmas gift 2 years ago (base and 1 extension) all work beautifully and have never had any problems.
