 LOVE THIS PHONE! November 30, 2008
This phone is wonderful. I bought this phone for my 85 year old mother. She loves the large buttons, and the fact that she does not have to hold the phone to her ear b/c the speaker works great. She is also glad to have a cordless companion phone to take with her wherever she wanders in her house

The product functions as advertised. I hung the base unit on the wall. I would have liked a longer cord. I can select to have the answering machine pick up after 3 or 5 rings; an option of 4 is not available. It's confusing at first to figure out how to view caller ID records vs. hearing recorded messages. Hold on to the manual -- some of the buttons and functions are not intuitive. After listening to messages, the "new messages" light stops blinking; I record a short memo afterwards if one of those was meant for my wife so she sees the light blinking when she gets home.

I'm writing because my experience is completely different from the other two reviews. We have had this phone for a few years now with no problems at all. I really like it. I wanted a dual phone so the corded one would work in the event of a power outage. Cordless phone works even outside in front of my house. I'm viewing this item because I'm ordering another one. My husband dropped the cordless phone into the bathtub and now it doesn't work. Hope my replacement item works like my old one did, and not the ones the reviewers here have had. I'll write an update review if it doesn't.

I bought 1 set and it worked well for weeks. So, unfortunately, I bought another set for my mom. About a year later, my cordless failed (no dial tone, but all other functions work). A few weeks later, my mom's set failed the same way! Really disappointing from a giant brand name...

This is a piece of junk. The cordless phone did not work from day one. The corded phone only worked intermittently. Often I could not get a dial tone unless I hit the phone!
