 Great, good price. January 9, 2009
The reviewer below me stating it does not work with mac is not correct. I put the cd in my imac and was printing within 5 minutes. Some people just cant do things. Anyway, nice printer, easy hookup and small footprint to fit anywhere.
FYI, brother printers use drums, so it will need replaced every x amount of prints. Hp drums are built in to the toners, nice.

This printer looks like an excellent idea - looks are obviously deceiving. I spent several hours trying to install this printer on a Macintosh before I gave up, hauled the printer back to the store, and exchanged it for a Brother. Less than five minutes elapsed between plugging the USB cable into the Brother and the printing of the first page. HP could stand to learn a bit from Brother about installation.

I lost my HP Laserjet 5L in a fire. I had it for over 11 years and it was still running strong and have only had four toner cartridges in all those years. I wanted another HP. Wanted Networking but couldn't afford the extra cost. Bought this as it had a good price and good reviews. I like it. It screams with speed compared to my 5L. Didn't know a laser printer for this prices could be so fast. My only complaint is that it is loud, but I don't print heavy volumes so I don't mind. I would recommend this printer. Installation was straightforward but there are no printed directions, you need to run the CD and follow the instructions. I was able to share it from my computer to my wife's computer without any problems. I run Vista and XP.
 A Decent Printer at an Affordable Price! January 3, 2009
Hewlett Packard P1006 is a decent printer. One of the qualities that I look for in purchasing a printer is the ability to fix it without having trouble. I picked this printer because I can use recyclable paper rather than spend money on expensive paper like in other printers that do jam by the way. There are some quirks to having this printer. Sometimes, the printing jobs don't always go through but they do get printed. Sometimes, I get spots on my printouts but I'm not that fussy. What I like is that it is small and easy. I worked with other HP Printers that required brand new paper. Since we are in a green environmental age, we should be recycling paper and this printer is good at doing it. It's affordable and it's easy!

After having struggled for some years with various inkjet printer models, I finally bought this laserjet. It is compact, well-designed, and the print quality (although maybe not the speed) matches that of a professional laser printer I have at work. I haven't gotten to replacing the toner cartridge yet, but it's supposed to last much longer than an inkjet cartridge. Most importantly, I am getting the laser print quality for about the same size and price. I'm using Windows XP and haven't had any software issues.
