to me i like the gaunlet slash fake first person shooter there going for if you dont look at higher than life stuff here you can have some fun here
and the online portion is better than the story to me just playin with 16 people is fun or attacking the monster to see who will survive the longest
is fun to me rent it or buy it used not worth buying brandnew but all out killer fun is still to be had here

3 out of 5 stars I EXPECTED MORE FROM A ZOMBIE GAME 6.25 OUT OF 10   January 5, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

I was very disappointed in Monster Madness. I thought it was going to be a combination of Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Dead Rising, and Resident Evil, unfortunately the sad truth comes in to place once you start playing the game. It has an overabundance of weapons, vehicles, characters, zombies, and destruction which should make it good, but it comes up short most of the time when comparing it to its great zombie predecessors. For instance, the controls can be agonizingly bad during certain gaming sequences like driving. The basic movements work fine most of the time, but the camera is a hassle during times when you're killing zombies. The graphics claim to use the power of Unreal Engine 3 which powered the awesome Gears of War, but it looks freaking awful on this game to the point of where it looks like a muddy old Xbox or Playstation 2 game. I had many hopes for this game, but it came up short and I was left disappointed and somewhat agitated. Just go buy Dead Rising instead for your 360, you'll be much happier.

4 out of 5 stars Great FUN!   December 4, 2007

After seeing the bad reviews that were posted about this game I figured I needed to post one that was more accurate!

We have had this game for several months, and we have had a blast playing it. It was a CHALLENGING game which some games just are not. I have read the other reviews on it and am disappointed others did not have as much fun with it as we did. We mainly played on multiplayer co-op because I am not very good at video games, and needed my husbands help quite frankly. Which now I am able to play it by myself since I have gotten better at video games period. I am much better at the arcade styles, like Tetris and things like that. SO for me to be able to play this game and enjoy it, and the other people who probably play ALOT of video games confuses me. I agree that some of the screen shots are hard, because you don't play in split screen like most when you do 2 player. Its one screen, so you just have to work WITH the other player to make sure that the screen is to the best of both of your advantages. Also, I admit that some of the controls for the vehicles were difficult, but its not anything someone cannot get used to. Come on if I can do it, an avid xbox player should have no problems. I think that if the controls were boring like a normal game it would have made this game less challenging and less fun.
I also seen a comment on how the game saves. There are alot of games that do not save unless you pass the level, which is how this one is. You reach a few checkpoints on the level, so that way if you die you return to that checkpoint and not have to start all over, but if you quit at a checkpoint, with the level unfinished, yes you have to start all over on that level.
There are a few glitches on the game, but nothing major that we haven't been able to handleand get passed. I have seen quite a few games with glitches why shouldn't this one be different?

OVERALL, we love this game and have a GREAT time playing it. If it weren't for the few minimal glitches I would have rated it 5 stars!
Its not perfect but it is fun!
We have almost completed the game, we have made it to the last level. And we are looking forward to another Monster Madness coming out!

3 out of 5 stars Can be fun yet........   July 21, 2007

Oi, this game isn't so bad for a rip off of an old 16 bit era game i'm sure you're aware of....... But, here's the problem with this game. When you finally get to the first point to drive a car it's messed up on controls on what you think it should do..... No biggie after some frustrations one picks up on it even though it's akward to move...... Point two like another review i saw somewhere when the game forces you into non unreal tournament views the game instantly goes down hill and any remote controll of your character is messed up. Case and point when you get to the final part of the mall it goes into a bad version of old ps 1 overhead views that were commen for games like loaded but, it's even worse than those games were for control on what your character does..... Multiplayer mode even local co-op has bad camera angles. You can have one friend stand on an upper part of a stage yet when you move the camera forces bad angles or in some stages will even move the character to a bad spot even though they didn't move!!!!!!! This game at times is really fun but, unforunatly has some really bad glitches and controls to often that just make this game a frustrating piece of you know what. Which is too bad cause theres been few games that kinda of capture the ol 16 bit era stongly like this title but, in certain parts of the game they tried too hard to differate from that era or just got lazy on programming and didn't go through.......On a first inspection one would think of buying this......I recommend renting first to see how it plays before you plop 60 bucks on this....... Games shouldn't be easy yet sloppy control is a lame reason to make a game hard when it's supposed to be funny and just be a cheap thrill for multiplayer........ Oh and even though this game is fairly new multiplayer where a third of your points come from is non existant and when you do get some people to play is just plain flat boring hence why for a new game no online matches are available.....

2 out of 5 stars old school gaming   June 30, 2007

I rented this title. It's not good. With no reviews up, i figured my 2 cents would help people not buy this. Flawed saving system, unimpressive use of unreal 3 engine, poor controls (four wheeler and billy's shooping cart...), flawed attempt at old-school gaming on 360. The odd thing is, it occurred to me while playing that this game could've been great...
