Great game, If you love to fly as I do. May 25, 2010 Ronald J. Cwetna (Calumet City,Il) This game is for a person as I who enjoys to fly planes. The person I ordered it from was very
good with service,as to, shipping & quality of game.
Combat FS 3 February 11, 2010 James R. Bristow (Asheville, NC) Graphics are superb! Quick Combat is simple and great fun. Actual Missions can be tough as there are always enemy around. Very realistic!
Ten steps backwards April 5, 2009 MacNut (Bremerton, WA USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this on eBay for $[...] (shipping included) I thought I was getting a great deal. Bah! CFS2 is far superior. I cannot use the padlock view because it is so shabby. There's no online combat anymore, too. Microsoft shut down the servers! I'm barely able to gain altitude with full throttle while the AI pilots fly circles around me. I generally hate this game. I'll be leaving the disk on the book exchange shelf at work. What a waste.
Endless repetition of missions September 26, 2008 Ensign Suder 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this game based on my experience with MS CFS and CFS2. This is nothing like them. I know other reviews have apologized for making the game sound bad. Trust me: it really is that bad. It would have to improve significantly just to stink.
The missions are boring. I know war can be an endless repetion, but come on. There are basically three missions you can fly: go bomb ground targets; go bomb ships; or intercept incoming aircraft. If you fly successive sorties of the same mission type, you will quickly become frustrated and bored. Ground targets are not to scale. Neither are the ships. Your hud will continue to identify targets as "hot" even if you've destroyed them. (Truck convoys are the worst. They can all be smoking piles of rubble and your hud will defiantly indicate that there is still one down there.
The battle lines seem to move regardless of the outcomes of your missions. There is no infomration on what strategies will help you achieve success. I've played through several campaigns, and lost each one without really understanding what I did wrong.
Mission briefs all read the same. You never get promotions, and it is almost impossible to score a medal. Forget getting two.
You can empty your guns into enemy planes before they die. But if you take one hit, your aircraft is uncontrollable.
In summary, this game is not worth owning. Not at all.
Not quuiitee a 5, but almost February 22, 2008 God (Area 51) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you consider this your life (I dont, ok, all things straightened out) its like you have ur job, a house, a steady paycheck, a good amount of money in the bank, a nice car. But there is something missing, its like, not having a wife or girlfriend. Its missing something, I dont know what, but there is defenitley something missing, well, I dont know
Summary: A great load of fun, but like I said, its missing something
