not that great March 26, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wasn't impressed with them. Coming from a pair of ultimate ears super.fi 3's, which basically cost the same, the Bose headphones sounded harsh and artificial, with less detail. Even with all the triport nonsense that bose advertises, the low end on these things isn't really even that great (not very clear or very strong). I had a $30 set of sony fontopias that had about the same quality bass. I'm betting that a lot of the high ratings are from users who upgraded from stock ipod headphones. I don't understand why everyone thinks these are the greatest headphones ever. They're nowhere close. They are an upgrade from stock mp3 player headphones for sure, but there are definitely better choices for around the same price or less.
Hold onto your tips March 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These headphones sound great and once you pick the proper size ear tips fit great too! The big downside of these is that the ear tips loosen easily when taken off and get lost easily. My solution is to dab a drop of Krazy Glue on each ear tip and those suckers stay put.
bose put their name on this crap? March 24, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I admit I am a brainwashed Bose fan and love their products. i got a $25 gift certificate for best buy and I bought these for around $80 out of pocket. These things suck. yes, the sound is decent, but comparable to less expensive sony earbuds that are half the price. the cord is cheap plastic that stays in permanent shape as it came from the factory. it looks and feels sad. the sound isolation and fitment of the silicone ear pieces stinks. do not attempt to jog or exercise in these things. all you'll hear is the wind rushing in and the earbuds themselves trying to extract themselves from your ear and onto the floor. I returned these headphones in 3 days.
Liked it so much, we bought a 2nd one! March 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had my pair since Christmas and use it everywhere! We all know the earbuds that come with the ipods are CHEAP!!! Sort of ridiculous considering you pay so much for the ipods, they could be just a little bit better. My oem earbuds started giving me problems about 2 weeks into owning my ipod. These earbuds eliminate white noise and static and rounds out the sound for a crisp, clear sound. I can have my volume all the way up and my eardrums are not rattling. I do listen to a lot of bass rich music.
We just bought a 2nd one for my husband and felt it was well worth it. You will always have someone that is unwilling to part with the money and feel that if they do, they are going to find something to complain about. It's all a part of their vicious buyer's remorse cycle.
I use mine at the gym and they play their music pretty loudly, not to mention the sounds from the various machines and weights. It completely blocks out all of those other sounds so I can concentrate on MI-TUNES :O)
The earbud covers do take some adjusting to. Finding the one that best fits your particular ear is not too difficult considering they provide you with 3 different sizes.
Bose Customer service, like the quality of their products, has always been top notch. I see these on sale for under $80 on a regular basis. Buy it, you'll love it. (As long as you are not a card carrying member of the 'Buyers Remorse Club'.)
Good Sound, Poor Design March 15, 2007 I also have a pair of Sony earphones for which I paid approx. $50. The Sonys cancel sound MUCH better than the Bose, but the Bose earphones sound better. I'm constantly in search of iPod worthy earphones with good bass sound. The Bose earphones are the best I've personally heard on bass sound.
Both the Sony and the Bose earphones easily lose their earbuds.
One of the reviews on this site said that if you study or are in quieter places, these earphones are great. I completely agree. I have used these at work and am addicted to them. I am an avid bicycle rider and these are terrible at cancelling the wind blowing by your ears.
